Day 99 - Westmorland, California

Day 99 was a mellow skate from Brawley to Westmorland. I skated 12 miles today, and wanted to get some good nutrients, hydration, and rest. My push had gentle hills, so I didn't really climb any elevation for the short skate. I know I've got a big stretch of desert and a heavy climb, so I'm glad I'm giving myself a day to chill and recuperate. I checked into a hotel and took a cruise to a little irrigation ditch by a farm. This painting was super fun! I enjoyed working in colorful layers and stacking textures to make this composition lively and energetic! I had a close call with my drone nearly falling into the water... I was able to keep it dry, and get the painting completed with no problems. I found a Mexican restaurant near my room called Mallory's. My server Kindra and Chef Evan were awesome, and I got to enjoy some good conversation and even better food while I was in Westmorland, California. I’m talking next level, insane desserts that make me want to take a trip back there already! It was cool hanging out and getting hyped up for the final push. Looks like I've only got a few days left, so I'm doing my best to be present, because I know I'll be missing this when I make it back home...
