Day 95 and I found some Palm trees! As I approach the final state of this adventure- California, I’m getting excited to reach the finish line! There’s been so many beautiful moments, so much amazing nature, and so many challenges I’ve had to face! My feet hate me for doing this, but they understand that it’s for a good cause. Today was a split between frontage roads and interstate stretches. I really enjoyed the smooth shoulder on I-10, but there were some uncomfortable moments over the past few days. You don't realize how many vehicles explode on the open road until you skate across the country! What I mean by that is; I had seen and skated over so much molten asphalt and shrapnel on my trip. When cars and trucks are flying past you at 80 plus miles an hour, and you end up skateboarding over the aftermath of a tanker fire, things get sketchy. I had a couple times that my board kicked out from under my feet, but I was quick enough to not have it get run over. Day 95 was a great push of a total of 57 miles, with a climb of around 600 feet total. I actually had a couple stops where I could eat and hydrate for a few minutes between big pushes. I threw on some music for a little bit and got emotional tonight, knowing I'm so close to the finish line. But I won't ready for what happened next...
