Day 87 - Globe, Arizona

I got a chill day out towards Globe Arizona… But chill doesn’t always mean easy. Since I’ve been winging it day by day since the start of this adventure, I sometimes fall into navigational dilemmas, and this one may have been the worst! I realized I was 87 miles from Phoenix, and the only safe route was over 150 miles through the mountains. I searched for an excuse to take the tunnel to Superior (illegal and dangerous) and even formulated a plan that I was fairly confident with the approach. I was going to have a buddy drive through the tunnel with his hazards on was I skated in front of him. Shortly after mentally preparing myself for a wild mission, I did some research on the canyon pass on route 60. Winding and narrow. No median barrier. No shoulder, Loud with echos. Huge mining trucks flying around corners… The list of reasons the canyon pass should not be attempted- left me a little stuck around Globe, wondering what my next move would be. 
In the mean time, I found the perfect cactus to paint on this day! 9 miles and 600 feet climbed for a chill one today. I'm stressing on how I'm getting to Phoenix, how the roads are going to be, and where I'm going to sleep...
