Day 73 and I got my body back to feeling capable of making moves!!! I got to chill out for a bit and recover in Van Horn, Texas- and there is no shortage of pretty views in this town! There’s also a lot of trippy cool art around to check out! It looked like a sculpture garden and a ton of up-cycling installations for people to check out. This town was once a booming little community, but as the residents got older, passed away, and left the properties to their kids, the next generation didn't want to stay. There is still a bit of community there, and I had some great conversations with an older gentleman that was retired airforce while at the post office. I heard that they had a boom when Jeff Bezos launched his private space-port "Blue Origin"- but the hype was short lived. I mailed out some paintings, got one last big meal in, and tried to rest up before the next push. The weather had been a little ominous, so at this point I'm stressing about rain...
For today’s painting, I had to climb over the railroad tracks (which was quite a hill) and I needed up in the forbidden zone
It was a cool and secluded landscape that offered a nice spot to paint and catch the sunset.
