Day 65 and I made it to Hobbs, New Mexico! a short 33 mile trek, but it wasn't easy. It was a windy day with rocky roads, and I climbed only about 600 feet of elevation. I was frustrated, because I have to put out so much effort when my conditions are like this- and progress feels like it's almost not worth it. I got through it, and found an old-timey water tower in the middle of the desert. It looked like it was retired, but made for a really cool painting. I hid a painting in the metal rafters, and wonder if someone found it. Every day along the way, I made a big painting and a small piece. I did art drops, or gifted the tiny paintings to people I met along the way. I kept a handful of them, and mailed them home. It was exciting to skate into New Mexico, because each new state means progress. I had no idea what was in store for me though... This trip was about to get a whole lot more hectic over the next few days.
