Day 63 - Ropesville, Texas

Day 63 was a solid push. The past ten days have been below average as far as distance, and I can blame that a little on technology. Since I got a new phone, there were no excuses for today. I had a pretty steady push from Lubbock to Brownfield Texas, for 41 miles of skateboarding with only 500 feet elevation gain. I stopped off at a school that had a super fun little skate spot. I had been holding back from getting wild with any tricks on this trip, because I knew that a rolled ankle could mean that the mission is done for. It was nice to get a little manual in and film with my drone. I've also been dealing with the fact that prior to the skate mission, I've been very focused on my fitness. I know I'm losing weight despite eating a ton- it's just a ton of calories being burned each day. I try and get some push ups in here and there, but for this trek, there's no such thing as extra energy. Although I think I am sometimes, I'm not superhuman. I have been working on skateboarding in shifts for some time now, a rush in the day, then I paint, and then a night push. It's a solid workflow, and honestly, I feel safer when I'm skating at night. There's not nearly as many cars after dark, and I have lights on me so I feel like I'm easier to see at night, and so are the cars. I'm in good spirits, and hoping for more big days, because I know I'm behind schedule a bit...
