This is Day 59 of the journey- I started in Bay Head, New Jersey and I’ve been traveling cross-country with nothing but my skateboard and backpack with some art supplies! I left the fun little town of Turkey, Texas and climbed a pretty big hill to start the day. On the way up I got pulled over and had an incredible interaction with the Deputy. After chatting about the journey and mission, he prayed for me on the side of the highway. I was feeling pretty sore, winded, and unmotivated, until that moment! I was rejuvenated, and pushed on to find a field that was freshly harvested, and the soil was turned. Behind the field was a wind farm, which made for a great painting! 55.94 miles to Tulia Texas, with a climb of 1452 feet. A few days ago I saw something out of the corner of my eye, and quickly released it was a wolf; running in the field to the right of me. I wasn't quick enough to pull out my camera, but I will forever have that moment imprinted in my mind. I was skateboarding through this long stretch of road, with no cars in sight, and at the same pace as me- this beautiful wolf! That wasn't the last I'd see of wolves on the journey, and today I seen something on the side of the road. As I got closer, I realized it was a wolf that got hit by a car and put down. He was no lie, bigger than. me! an overall insane day out of a movie, but I'm making progress, and excited to keep pushing forward.
