Day 49 Painting Across America and I made it halfway across the country! 18.58 miles and 986 feet climbed. Mellow day, because I had a pit stop to hang with a friend. I cried today. I had such a euphoric release when I was blasting over the rolling hills, that I had tears in my eyes. Realizing that I skateboarded this far is making me proud of my accomplishment and excited for the second half of the journey! I skated past a handful of beautiful scenes today, waiting for the golden hour lighting, and then I struggled to find something to paint! As the sun was preparing to set, I skated up to an old demolished home, bare bones- down to the foundation. Something caught my eye, and it was a tree that despite the challenges of the environment- it was growing out of the cracks in the ground. I thought it was a beautiful example of strength and resilience in nature. In some ways I was feeling like this tree- overcoming the obstacles in life, and growing regardless of the circumstances that make things tough.
