Day 26 - Rockwood, Tennessee

Day 26 was a surprisingly scenic day! It started off looking like it would be nothing but highways… and it opened up into some beautiful scenery.
It wasn’t the best shoulder day, but I’m used to dancing around cars by now…
Skate for 15 seconds, look behind, jump off my board, wait in the grass, skate for 30 seconds, hear a car coming… and so forth… It’s really not too fun, and that’s part of why I enjoy my night skates so much!
Although a lot of people wouldn’t recommend skating in the dark, I figure there’s maybe 5 percent the amount of cars at night, as there are in the daytime!
Anywho, this was a cool day because I ended up getting art gifted to me at the end of the night! I met a really cool couple who overheard me chatting with my server about my travels, and I received a handcrafted art piece ❤️
I had to return the favor with my art drop of the day, and I ended up setting a checkpoint. The next hotel was either 29 miles up a mountain in the dark… or backtracking seven miles- I had to make the decision to get a hotel in backwardsville, with the help of my new friends! I made it 31 miles with an elevation gain of 1400 feet
