Day 19 Painting Across America!
On My way home to Pacific Beach, California!
I made my way down to Wytheville, Virginia and it was a beautiful ride!
I took the 11 most of the way, and some roads that ran parallel were a nice escape from dealing with cars.
I think it was because I got out of the mountains, but the sky felt huge on this day!
I wanted to paint something that would accentuate how small I felt surrounded by so much sky.
I sat on the side of the highway as the sun set, and captured the moment.
I’ve been having fun trying different techniques with my paintings, so I chose a watercolor style application for most of this piece. 34.58 miles with an elevation gain of 2948 feet!
