Day 105 - Crystal Pier, San Diego, California

What an incredible day, and special way to wrap up this cross country expedition. For the final push, I met up with friends down at Mr. Frosty's Ice Cream shop in Pacific Beach, California. I had scheduled a skate down to the beach, and it felt amazing to cruise corn the main strip of PB, down Garnet Ave, with the energy of this whole journey coming to an end. We had skateboards, bicycles, and scooters taking over the road, and got some incredible drone footage of the push! As I arrived to the finish line, I quickly pulled off my shoes and jumped in the ocean. After spending some time talking with everyone who showed up down at Crystal Pier, I had one thing left to do... Paint! It only made sense to capture the pier for the final painting of the series. I underestimated the technical difficulty of the design, but I like a good challenge. On December 21st, I had officially made it coast to coast on a skateboarding art mission. This was a dream of mine that I almost let slip away... because if fear, and thinking I needed to play it safe. I didn't want to look back and regret not chasing this dream, and I'm so glad I had the opportunity to experience this wild adventure. This was a once in a lifetime journey, that took me to beautiful places, and tested me physically, and mentally. I feel so blessed that I was able to take the time to e off work, to build something special. The "Painting Across America" collection of artworks- will continue to be displayed in various galleries, as a way to share this adventure and raise funds for children's art supplies and creative educational programs. The Pushing The Art Project may have come to an end, but this is only the beginning for The Pushing The Art Foundation! Please consider contributing to the cause at our DONATE page.
