Day 103 - Lindo Lake, Lakeside, California

Day 103 and I skateboarded 20 miles from Romona to Lakeside, California. This was about 1,500 feet of a climb, but it didn't seem all that bad today. I had to take the 67, which was a highway with a ton of variation. There were segments with wide smooth shoulders, and other sections that were terrible. Several lanes of cars going well over 70 mph, with little to no shoulder, feeling like I'm about to get pinned up against guardrails. Nice mountain views, but also mountainous drops. There were some rocky and rough patches, but Allin all, it wasn't too bad. There was one portion that was a super steep downhill, and it wasn't a fun one. On these main highways, I really prefer to control my speed with a foot drag- probably why I went through ten pairs of shoes on this trip! I got stopped by my buddy John- who was riding his motorcycle in the hills that day, trying to find me on my skate mission. He hooked it up with a gatorade, and I met him down in town before painting. I had a reporter from KUSI and Fox 5 news come out to do a segment on the project. I enjoyed making this painting of the gazebo at Lindo Lake, in Lakeside, California. I had time to chill and got a couch to crash on for the night. I am so close to the finish line, I'm getting antsy to hit the final push!
