Painting Across America
This is The “Pushing The Art” Project and Fundraiser- raising money to get art supplies to kids in need!
Here’s what I’m going to do:
I will be skateboarding coast to coast!
I am going to create a new painting every day inspired by my surroundings, my feelings that day,
and input from viewers like you!
I will be selling prints of the artwork to raise money to help get art supplies to kids in need!
Also will be accepting donations along the way!
My goal:
is to raise a million dollars!
Yeah that might sound crazy, but hear me out…
To reach my goal, I just need $1
From a million people
If one million people can donate just one dollar, we can help so many kids in need!
Think about it!
If you can’t spare a dollar, you can still help!
Here’s how you can still be a part and help to
Push The Art
I just need you to subscribe to the Pushing The Art YouTube page, and share it with someone you know!

About the Artist and the Mission
Hey there! My name is Hunter Knolmayer and I am the man behind this mission.
I’d like to share with you a little about myself and this project.
I’ve been an artist since I could remember; some of my earliest memories were falling asleep with a pencil in my hand.
I’ve always had a desire to create, and I was blessed to have a childhood with art supplies at my disposal.
I have studied fine arts all of my adult life and I am a professional oil painter and tattoo artist.
Following my dreams of pursuing a career in art was not taking the easy road, but it has helped me live a colorful life.
I haven’t given up following my dreams, and that’s what has led me to be writing this today.
Besides creating artwork, I am passionate about traveling and seeing what’s out there in this world.
I find so much inspiration by going to new places, and have a hard time staying in one place for very long.
Despite living in sunny San Diego, there is so much more beauty all around the world - I gotta keep moving!
One thing that has kept me moving for many years now; is my love for skateboarding. I enter a realm of moving meditation when I cruise around, often times finding myself pushing for hours. I’ve hopped on my board and just kept going, sometimes doing 30 miles or more in a day. These long distance skate trips got me thinking, “I wonder if I can skateboard cross-country.” I put the idea off for some time, but after seeing a couple guys make the journey happen while I made excuses, I decided it was time to chase this dream of mine before it faded away.
Once I decided I was going to skateboard coast to coast, I started dreaming up a plan of action. I knew I wasn’t going to be happy with not having a goal or a mission, so I began writing down ideas and brainstorming how to do it my own way. While visiting family in New Jersey, I saw something that caught my eye at my sister’s house. It was a note from her kids’ school, asking parents to go out and buy assorted art supplies for the kids to bring into school. That’s when I got the idea!
I’ve heard of runners and cyclists, as well as skateboarders doing fundraisers with their journeys, and I found my cause!
I decided to have my skate mission become a fundraiser to help get art supplies for kids. Though I was excited to have a greater purpose for this trek, I still felt that I needed to push things a little further.
After weeks of brainstorming, I finally found a way to use my art to bring this project to life. I decided to commit to painting a new canvas every single day of the trip! I know there is going to be so much beauty long my path, that I should create a collection of paintings, and turn this into an art project! I will be selling prints of all of the paintings, and any profits from selling prints as well as donations - will go towards getting kids art supplies!
Overwhelmed with excitement, I began training and working on my fitness to prepare for the trip. I started doing more long distance skating, even getting my first 100 mile day under my belt. (Video) I have been preparing my YouTube channel, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and website; to help get more eyes on this project. I have been working on planning the trip, and will be releasing more videos soon, asking viewers to offer feedback to help along the way! I am approaching this mission as a community project; pushing for a viewer curated adventure! I want people to be a part of it by offering suggestions on: routes to take, art supplies to use, skateboarding equipment, places to stop along the way, food to eat, places to stay, what to paint, and so much more!
As I write this, I am still considering which fundraisers and organizations to partner with. I plan on beginning the skateboard trip no later than September 8th, 2025 - and I will be updating information on my website as decisions are made. If you have any questions, or feedback, any ideas or recommendations, if you would like to help in any way, or anything else; please message me and we can chat about it!
If you can’t afford to donate, please help by sharing this mission with someone who might enjoy watching!
I feel like all children are innately creative, and making art is a crucial part of their development.
Unfortunately, not all kids have the same opportunities as I did.
With rising costs of living, not all parents can afford to provide their kids with art supplies.
School budgets may not be prioritizing the arts, and some children aren’t able to fully harness their creativity.
We can help. Thank you for helping me with Pushing the Art.
