Day 5 - White Marsh, Maryland

Day 5 Painting Across America brought me to White Marsh, Maryland. I made forward progress of approximately 31.5 miles with an elevation gain of about 1900 feet- my biggest climb yet! Pretty smooth route, but hardly any shoulder for the day. As I make my way towards Baltimore, the reality is setting in that these hills... or MOUNTAINS- are going to be no joke! The route I have planned (very loosely) calls for about 129,000 of altitude climbed, and my legs are already feeling this heavy. The humidity is pretty brutal, but I'm staying positive nonetheless. As I got into town, I had to do the mad scramble to find a spot to paint. Looking on my maps, I found a lake that looked like the right call, but there were only private docks, so I had to mildly trespass to get this angle. A peachy sunset hit after I already painted the sky, so I worked on this piece again when I checked into my hotel for the night. I'm excited to meet with a buddy of mine tom borrow, and we shall see what the day has in store for me...
