Day 3 Painting Across America Brought me from Philly to Newark, Delaware. it was a 40.51 mile skate, with an elevation gain of 1,230 feet. It was a pretty straight shot, with a mix between highway, side streets, and some nice bike paths. It was raining for the first time, and of course I had holes in my shoes already so my socks were getting wet. Newark was a cool little college town, and I was able to stop and get a new pair of shoes. I had my first pair pretty shredded from training, but I knew I could get a couple more days out of them. I got a pair of Vans Half Cabs, we shall see how they perform. I remember scrambling to find a good spot to paint, racing the sunlight, but wanting a cool piece of art for the day. I stumbled upon a dam and waterway under a bridge, and got some really cool drone shots on this day. This painting session set the bar for how I wanted to film for the rest of the journey.
