Day 1 - Wrightstown, New Jersey

Day 1 Painting Across America started having my feet in the Atlantic Ocean; in the town of Bay Head, New Jersey. I had friends and family come down to the beach for the first push, and headed west, embarking on the long journey. I skateboarded through my hometown of Point Pleasant, New Jersey- with so much excitement for the adventures ahead. I managed to clock 38.72 miles with 756 feet of elevation gain- and got my first painting completed in Wrightstown, New Jersey. The sun was setting, and I had to find something pretty to paint fast. I skated through tons of beautiful areas, and ended up in a town with slightly less nature, so I was in a scramble. I managed to find a field attached to an abandoned shopping mall. This was a great example of how beauty is all around us, if we look hard enough. I approached this trip with a one day at a time mentality to not get overwhelmed, and day one went perfectly- but I had no idea what was ahead...
